Students of the Greco-Roman wrestling school of JSC “UKTMP” performed successfully at the Republic of Kazakhstan Championship in Astana. The tournament, which traditionally brings together the country’s strongest athletes, became another test of strength and professionalism for our wrestlers.

The national championship always means intense competition. Each weight category is represented by dozens of ambitious wrestlers, and every match turns into a tense battle of tactics and willpower. In such conditions, success depends not only on physical strength but also on psychological resilience.

In the under-17 age category, Ali Bekengazy delivered an outstanding performance, winning an honorable second place. His performance was an example of thoughtful and technical wrestling. A silver medal at a championship of this level is a significant achievement, confirming both a high level of preparation and the great potential of the young athlete.

“The level of the championship in Astana was very high; there were no easy matches at all. In the final, things didn’t go exactly as planned, but I believe the silver medal is also a step forward and an important experience. I would like to thank my coaches and, of course, the Plant for their support. When you feel the strength of an entire enterprise behind you, it gives you extra power on the mat. I will keep working — the goal is gold!” said Ali Bekengazy, silver medalist of the Kazakhstan Championship.

The older age group also performed impressively. In the under-20 category, Alexander Pimenov won a bronze medal. The competition in this group was extremely tough: Alexander faced already well-developed, physically strong athletes with extensive competitive experience. Despite this, our wrestler demonstrated true sporting spirit and a strong will to win. Alexander’s result reflects consistency and readiness for new challenges on the mat.

The achievements of Ali Bekengazy and Alexander Pimenov are a shared victory not only for the athletes themselves and their coaching staff, but also for the entire team of JSC “UKTMP.” The Plant rightfully takes pride in its trainees, as their medals are not only personal trophies but also a meaningful contribution to strengthening the image of the Plant as a territory of health and sports.

The championship has concluded, the medals have been won, but new starts and challenges lie ahead. There is no doubt that the students of the Greco-Roman wrestling school of JSC “UKTMP” will stand on the podium many more times, enhancing the prestige of the Plant and contributing to the development of sports in Kazakhstan.
