For three decades, the fate of Maxim Vladimirovich Teslenko has been inextricably linked with the Ust-Kamenogorsk titanium and Magnesium Combine. He firmly believes that in every big business, not only skill is important, but also loyalty to the chosen path.
In September 1995, our hero got a job at the Plant as an electrician for the repair and maintenance of electrical equipment in workshop No. 18, responsible for the operation and construction of social facilities.
"It was a social workshop, and we were responsible for the work of the cultural center, kindergartens, and the Volna recreation center," recalls Maxim Teslenko, who was involved in a major renovation of the swimming pool at the Titan Stadium in 1998.
In 2000, Workshop No. 18 merged with workshop No. 6, which was engaged in major repairs and construction of basic technological equipment such as chlorinators and electrolyzers. The young but already experienced specialist continued his work as a foreman of the power engineering service. His work at that time was closely related to the activities of the construction and installation section of workshops No. 6 and No. 7, with which Maxim Teslenko's team performed joint tasks for the construction and installation of electrical equipment. In 2005, the team increased, the staff received the positions of electricians and began to carry out maintenance and partial maintenance of crane mechanisms and crane beams.
Maxim Vladimirovich's leadership qualities did not go unnoticed, and in 2011 he was elected chairman of the workshop trade union committee. In the same year, he was appointed to the position of senior power engineer of the workshop, where he worked until 2015.
But the real challenge was the appointment of the head of the branch of the Akimat Affairs Department. The urban neighborhoods of Novaya Sogra, Raduzhny, Babkina Mill and Gavan were in dire need of a confident management approach. And having received such an important appointment, our hero began active work on the development of social infrastructure.
– Many playgrounds were built, the park was put in order with the full support of the Plant and the President of JSC UKTMK, Asem Tlekovna Mamutova. We converted one of the abandoned squares into a sports ground, and the other into a children's playground. Old trees were cut down, sidewalks were laid, benches and lighting were installed.… Everything was done for the residents," our hero proudly shares
But the professional path brought him back to his native Factory. In 2019, Maxim Teslenko was appointed to the post of head of the workshop No. 6, with whom he was already very familiar, and in December 2020 he took up the post of head of workshop No. 6. In 2023, he will be appointed Head of the UKTMK Construction and Capital Repairs Department. He still holds this position today.
– This year marks the 30th anniversary of my work at the Plant, – Maxim Vladimirovich says with a smile. – I never thought about changing my place of work and I am sure that I will retire from the Plant.
Today, the Department of Construction and Capital Repairs, which was founded just three years ago, is actively implementing large-scale projects, repairing equipment, and actively participating in the modernization of production.
Looking back over the years, Maxim Vladimirovich remembers those who influenced his career and destiny – mentors, colleagues and managers.
One of these was the first head, who was the head of the workshop in which our hero began his work at the Plant.
"My first supervisor, Valery Yendorovich Kim, always said: 'study, get a higher education, grow and succeed,' and always supported me," our hero shared warm memories.
After joining workshop No. 6, his mentor was Evgeny Viktorovich Kalinin, the chief power engineer of the workshop, who always helped, trained and passed on all his many years of experience to young specialists.
– He left us a huge set of knowledge, we actively studied his works and notes, which helped us a lot in solving production problems, – Maxim Teslenko shared.
Maxim Vladimirovich is sure that the success of a leader is impossible without the support of the team. The ability to understand people, to be not only a boss, but also a friend – these are the qualities that a real leader should have.
– The boss must find a common language with the team so that you are understood and supported. If these two functions coincide, then all the work will be done at the highest level," the head of the department is confident.
Outside of work, Maxim Vladimirovich often spends time outdoors with family and friends, joint trips to the Bukhtarma reservoir, fishing, camping and guitar – all this allows you to recharge your batteries for new work achievements.
– I really love the nature of East Kazakhstan, Katon-Karagai ... we often go there with friends. Campfire conversation, guitar songs, what could be more enjoyable? – our hero shared.
For Maxim Vladimirovich, Builder's Day is not just a date on the calendar, but a truly significant holiday.
– I definitely congratulate not only the management team, but also the employees of workshop No. 6. Our whole day is spent in a friendly atmosphere, and on the weekend we go out with colleagues to nature, barbecue, discuss ideas and plans for the future. We exchange opinions and experiences in a warm and friendly atmosphere," our hero said.
The young management team has a lot of tasks. The team is actively implementing modern technologies, switching to electronic document management and automating processes.
– We want to switch to 100% conclusion of contracts on the tender platform in order to minimize corruption risks. We are also working on programs together with UARIT to automate the purchase of materials and an SAP program to automatically count all materials. Automation of processes is what we need to strive for," our interlocutor shared his plans.
And there is no reason to doubt that everything you have planned will be fulfilled, because any, even the most difficult, tasks can be solved if you approach the matter responsibly and professionally.
– I would like to take this opportunity to wholeheartedly congratulate the staff of the Construction and Capital Repairs Department, as well as workshop No. 6 on our professional holiday – Builder's Day! Maxim Vladimirovich addressed his colleagues. – Your work is the foundation of our common well–being and the key to a secure future. I wish you good health, success in all your endeavors, and reaching new professional heights!
