The Financial Department of UKTMK JSC is the backbone of the Plant and one of the key structures that ensure transparency and stability of financial flows, timely payments, strategic planning and the basis for the long–term development of the largest metallurgical enterprise in the region.
The daily work of the department's specialists is a multitasking process that requires care and discipline. The priority areas are liquidity and cash flow management, control of obligations and payments, treasury operations, support of credit lines, work with budgets and investment projects, preparation of reports and support of financial processes. An important part of the activity is the interaction with banks, counterparties and internal departments of the Plant on all financial issues.
In recent years, the financial management system has changed significantly and has become more technologically advanced and strategic. Financiers have moved from manual control to automation, increasing their focus on risk management, compliance procedures, and information security. SAP tools, Directum, Excel modeling and online banking solutions have become part of the department's daily work, and the share of paper document management is gradually decreasing.
– Today we are integrating financial analysis more deeply with production processes. This helps not only to fix the figures, but to understand their impact on the development of the Plant as a whole," emphasizes Yerzhan Rakhimkanov, Head of the Finance Department.
The Finance Department is a team of qualified specialists, each of whom conducts his own line of work: treasury, debt management, financial analysis, cash transactions, budgeting, international settlements and support of credit lines. All these processes are interconnected and require a constant exchange of information. Daily coordination on payments, contracts, loans and planning allows you to maintain a complete financial picture and maintain the stability of the enterprise.
The atmosphere within the team is of no small importance. They value openness, mutual assistance, and respect for everyone's professional contributions. A lot is based on discipline, trust, and a willingness to back up a colleague.

No less significant is the tradition of transferring experience, especially to young professionals who are helped to get used to the difficult work of a financier.
Among the significant results of recent years are the attraction and maintenance of large credit lines and international financing, increased transparency of financial flows, optimization of liquidity management, as well as systematic work on monitoring liabilities and receivables. Thanks to competent resource management, the Plant successfully fulfills contractual obligations to its partners and remains sustainable in the long term.
Financial management becomes particularly important in the context of the future. The tasks of the next year include improving the efficiency of cash flow management, further digitalization of processes, the introduction of new analysis and forecasting tools, the development of BI-reporting and improving interaction with banks and counterparties. Financiers are confident that the future belongs to decency, digital literacy, the ability to work with arrays of data, mathematical modeling and understanding of international financing instruments.
On November 15, the country celebrates a professional holiday – Financier's Day. For the Plant, this is not only an occasion to congratulate colleagues, but also an opportunity to take stock, evaluate achievements and set new goals.
