The pride of the Plant: World-class bronze

Temirlan Turdakyn, a graduate of the UKTMK Greco-Roman wrestling school, won a bronze medal at the U-20 World Wrestling Championships. The competition was held in Bulgaria, the city of Samokov, bringing together the strongest representatives of Greco-Roman wrestling from all over the world.

The World Youth Championship ended at the end of August. On the last day, the final fights were held in four weight categories – 63, 77, 87 and 130 kg. Temirlan competed in the weight category up to 87 kg, where a total of 30 athletes were announced.

In the fight to reach the finals, Temirlan faced a strong opponent from Russia. The fight was intense, the forces were equal, but, unfortunately, it ended in favor of the Russian. Nevertheless, our pupil gathered all his will into a fist, and in the bronze medal match he showed a real athletic character, winning the representative of Azerbaijan and winning a well-deserved medal at the World Championships.

  - Temirlan Turdakyn fought with dignity, showing a high level and excellent training, he deservedly entered the top three strongest juniors in the world. I'm sure this is just the beginning. I believe that in the future he will rise even higher, win gold at the World Adult Championships, show excellent results at the Asian Games, and perhaps even at the Olympic Games," says Daniyar Abilov, coach of the UKTMK Greco-Roman wrestling school. - We have been working hard for this award for a long time. His victory is based on daily training, hard work and faith in victory. This is a great pride for Kazakhstan, our school and the Plant.

It is worth noting that Temirlan is not the only talent. There are many more promising children growing up among the pupils of the UKTMK Greco-Roman wrestling sports school who are able to adequately represent the country on the world stage. All this is made possible by the attention to sports and the constant support of the management of the Plant and the trade union organization of the enterprise.

The championship finalist himself shared: "It was an important start for me. Thanks to the coaches, parents, UKTMK JSC and everyone who believed in me. This medal is just the beginning – I want to go on and become an Olympic champion. In the meantime, I have a youth league ahead of me, which will be held at the end of September in Karaganda. There is no time to relax, we need to continue training..."

The Combine congratulates Temirlan and the coaching staff on their high award and wishes them further success in the sports arena. Such achievements are an example for young people and a clear confirmation that regularity, hard work and perseverance always lead to victory.
