A professional environment is being formed here, in which it is important not only to master a complex metallurgical specialty, but also to be able to work in a team and be a reliable support for colleagues. The story of Yerzhan Turgambayev is a vivid confirmation of this.
His career in metallurgy began at the age of 19 as an electrolyzer of molten salts of the 5th category of the electrolysis department of shop No. 1. Then he came to the city from the village of Kuigan, Kurchum district. The main thing was the desire to work honestly and prove that a young specialist can become a reliable part of the team.

After enrolling in the specialty of metallurgist at D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan State Technical University, Yerzhan combined his studies with work. In 2011, he graduated from the university and by the age of 25, during the absence of the foreman, he could perform his duties.
A profession that requires character
The operation of the molten salt electrolyzer is one of the most difficult and responsible at the Plant. It requires care, endurance and professional intuition. It is important to be able to anticipate processes and be responsible for every decision made.
– This work is not about strength, but about character. You need to feel the metal. If you make a mistake, he won't forgive you," the specialist notes.
Strict compliance with safety regulations is of particular importance: control of electric vehicle movement, preparation of tools before inspections, attention to detail. Mistakes are unacceptable here.
Experience and professional development
Mentors, experienced craftsmen, who taught responsibility, discipline and respect for production, played a major role in Yerzhan's development. Today, he himself is a reliable link in his shift, which employs more than 25 people, including 10 electrolysis workers, and continues to improve his skills by mastering additional production areas.
The team and the family are the two main pillars
For Yerzhan, work at the Plant is a contribution not only to production, but also to the development of the country. "When you realize that Kazakhstan needs your work, that the metal that has passed through your hands is used in serious and vital industries, you feel proud," he says.
Yerzhan is known in the workshop as a calm, reliable and respected specialist. He is confident that unity and mutual responsibility make the shift a real team. His family remains his support and support – his wife, two sons and two daughters.
Addressing young employees, Yerzhan emphasizes: "Be disciplined, listen to mentors and work honestly. The experience of your elders is your rate of professional growth. The profession tests character, and metallurgy is no exception."
